3. Preach the Gospel

Present the Gospel and pray with and direct any who decide to follow Jesus.

Psalm 34:1-3

1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.

Let’s Come Together and Praise Him

Instead of looking horizontal and worrying in these uncertain times, let’s look up and Praise the Lord knowing He is sovereign and will fight our battles for us.

2 Corinthians 4:18

18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Psalm 67

1 God be merciful to us and bless us,

And cause His face to shine upon us,           Selah

2 That Your way may be known on earth,

Your salvation among all nations.

3 Let the peoples praise You, O God;

Let all the peoples praise You.

4 Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!

For You shall judge the people righteously,

And govern the nations on earth.                     Selah

5 Let the peoples praise You, O God;

Let all the peoples praise You.

6 Then the earth shall yield her increase;

God, our own God, shall bless us.

7 God shall bless us,

And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

God is at Work!

Much of what we’ve seen this year in America has been pretty chaotic, but God has a plan in His infinite wisdom and sovereignty to accomplish His work.  As Christians we are called to be salt and light to a world that is living in darkness.  I believe God has a work prepared in advance to bring people to Him in the city of Sacramento and even across our country through these hard times.  Just like in the days of the Jesus Movement there is civil unrest, there is a want to be free from God’s law and live in sexual sin and have a “free life of love” or whatever you want to call it.  This life is actually a bondage to darkness and sin and I believe God is going to do a work and bring people to Him.  Praise in the Streets is a simple thing we can do as the body of Christ to just lift the name of our God on high and thank Him for who He is.  In contrast to the rioting and protesting we’ve seen lately, Praise in the Streets will be focused on God not man.  Let’s bring all we have as followers of Jesus and praise Him in the streets of Sacramento!

Would This Defy Newsom’s Orders?

As you may know Governor Newsom has prohibited all in-person worship, and home Bible studies and fellowship for most of California, while some areas have limited in-person worship, but no singing or chanting is allowed.  He is allowing violent protesting and riots which has a much more negative consequence.  If we gathered as the body of Christ and even if there were thousands of us, we would not be defying his orders up to this point.  So why would we not be salt and light to the city and bring a positive influence through praise.  The Bible says put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.  Whether you think we should defy the Governors orders or not and hold in-person worship services, Praise in the Streets of Sacramento is not defying his orders.  Meet us August 29th to lift our eyes to the Lord in Praise. Bring your church, small group and friends and meet us in Midtown on August 29th!
